Apulia, turquoise waters, dazzling views

Visit Italy’s Easternmost point.
Apulia is, since the beginning of time, a land of scorching sun, red soil, vast olives groves, crystal clear waters, hard working people and fine fishermen. Now, in the 21st century, you can still find secluded places that make you feel as time stopped. Here the wine is strong, the oil is tasty, the people are warm and time is of little importance.
We want you to experience all this, and much more, with a simple yet mouth-watering itinerary through this mesmerizing land.

Discover the colors of Apulia with a private tour to experience a unique collection of Unesco Sites.
Green as the Olive trees, White as the candid Ostuni houses, Red as the sun when rise. Picture them in your mind in this order…and you will have the Italian Flag.

Upon your arrival at Bari airport, meet your driver and board a luxury car for your private transfer to the your hotel in Trani. Trani is a historic picturesque fishing port and a peaceful village away from chaotic Bari, Apulia capital. Check-in at the hotel then go out for dinner in one of the small restaurants along the harbour.
Overnight in Trani, breakfast and local city tax included.

Breakfast at the hotel.
Today enjoy a full-day tour of the Unesco world heritage site of Matera, with a private car and an English speaking guide. Please note that Matera lies on a ravine, and is therefore not suited for exploration if you have trouble walking or with health related problems.
The Sassi district is divided into two parts, the Sasso Caveoso and the Sasso Barisano, each with countless churches and their own distinctive features. The tour includes also a visit to Casa Grotta, a typical Sassi dwelling. After the excursion, come back to Trani to spend the rest of the day, making shopping in one of the many fabulous clothes shops.
Overnight in Trani, breakfast and local city tax included.

Breakfast at the hotel.
This morning discover on foot the Cathedral of San Nicola Pellegrino, which dominates the seashore from a spectacular position at the water's edge and it is also one of the most renowned sights of Apulia. Trani's defensive fortress, the Castello Svevo, is dated to 1249 and is one of the many castles built in southern Italy by the Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II. Nearby there is a twelfth-century church built by the Knights Templar, the Chiesa di Ognissanti: in fact Trani was on a route used by crusaders heading to, and coming from, the Holy Land. Board your private car to go towards Ruvo di Puglia, once famous for its red and black pottery. The feature site in Ruvo is the 13th century cathedral, whom main doorway is decorated with some fabulous statues of Griffons. Free lunch on your own then enjoy a visit to Castel Del Monte, an unusual castle with an octagonal shape and towers at each end of the octagon. Its location, symmetry and the astronomical and mathematical precision along with the blending of Islamic, Gothic and Classical styles has earned its UNESCO World Heritage Status. After the visit, board your private car to come back to Trani.
Overnight in Trani, with breakfast and local city tax included.

Collect your luggage today, as this night you will be at a different hotel in a different location. Private car and driver at disposal for the day. In the morning travel south for a visit at a local farm (Masseria) then enjoy a cooking lesson to know local products of the regions followed by lunch. In the afternoon, reach another Unesco world-heritage site: Alberobello. It is famous for its traditional conical Trulli dwellings, originally used as peasant homes built using dry-stacked stones. Meet your English speaking guide who will lead you through the narrow alleys of the Aia Piccola borough and show you the key attractions of Alberobello, including a visit inside a trullo house and the unique trullo church. A taste of local products is included before having some free time during which your principal activities may be wandering around marveling at trulli or buying some souvenirs. Here you will find colourful terracotta whistles (a local Puglia product), local ceramics, and everything shaped like a trullo. Many trulli contain tiny bars where you can sample local wines, which are also sold in the shops along with biscuits and pasta. After the visit of Alberobello, board on your private car for the transfer to your new hotel, located in Savelletri di Fasano or nearby.
You will spend here 2 nights, breakfast and local city tax included.

Private car and driver again at your disposal for the whole day. In the morning you will visit Martina Franca, a small town with elegant palaces and monumental churches including a stop to the hamlet of Locorotondo, that is beautifully situated on a hilltop 410 metres above sea level in the heart of the scenic Itria valley. Free lunch on your own, then in the afternoon enjoy a visit of the Castellana Caves. The tour winds along a distance of 3 km, a unique guided tour of the caves to more than 60 meters deep in an amazing scenario made of stalactites, stalagmites, concretions, incredible shapes, fossils, canyons and caves with fantastic names. After this tour, come back to the hotel to relax before your dinner booked at a local restaurant near the hotel.

Today check-out from the hotel with destination Lecce, once an important center of the Roman empire and now known as ‘the Florence of the south’ due to its baroque architecture. Make a detour to Ostuni and take a stroll along its maze of tiny, narrow streets which are lined with whitewashed houses sitting beneath the imposing Gothic cathedral. If you are interested in museums, at 15 Via Cattedrale, there is a pre-Roman era archaeological museum you may visit. Upon your arrival in Lecce, check-in at the hotel, then in the afternoon meet your English speaking guide for a walking tour of the city including entrance to its Cathedral. Lecce has several beautiful piazzas and interesting street environments with a good selection of restaurants, cafes, pizzerias and many original shops that sell fine traditional craftsmanship.

Private car and driver will be waiting at the hotel lobby for a morning visit to Otranto, a town of Greek origin situated on the site of the ancient Hydrusand, and also an Unesco site. Walk in the old town, surrounded by the Aragonese walls with white houses and narrow streets paved with stones. The itinerary will continue passing through Cape Palascìa, commonly known as Capo d'Otranto, Italy's most easterly point and proceed to the southern tip of Apulia: Leuca. It is the extreme edge of the region, also called "finibus terrae" because it's the borderland where the Ionian and the Adriatic sea ideally meet. Looking out from the promontory of the sanctuary of Leuca you can have an extraordinary panoramic view.
Before coming back to Lecce, make a stop to the medieval village of Specchia, that has been ranked among the "most beautiful villages in Italy". The town retains a charming old town made of stairways, courtyards, alleys and whitewashed houses. Relax at your hotel then enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant in Lecce this evening.
