From Genoa to Pisa, an exclusive tour in the Italian Riviera
DAY 01 GENOA
Arrive at Genoa airport and pick up your rented car to move to your hotel, where you will spend 2 nights. The rest of the day is free to acquaint with the local area or to walk around and discover the capital of Liguria region.
DAY 02 GENOA
Today take a stroll along the streets of the city to admire modern, Renaissance and Baroque architecture, fancy palaces and a host of museums and galleries.
There are hip art cafes, boat trips and one of Europe’s largest aquarium. (Breakfast)
DAY 03 CAMOGLI, PORTOFINO AND SANTA MARGHERITA LIGURE
Breakfast at the hotel, then travel towards east for a full day excursion to Camogli and Portofino. Camogli is a charming fishing village on a rocky outcrop, has a nice beach with bathing establishments and a small harbor with shops and restaurants. Portofino it’s famous all over the world and it is known as the most popular seaside resorts in the Italian Riviera and was the favorite of the rich and famous during its 1950s heyday. Overnight is in Santa Margherita Ligure or nearby. (Breakfast)
DAY 04 RAPALLO AND MONTEROSSO
Breakfast at the hotel, then proceed to Monterosso al Mare with a stop to Rapallo. Here you can find a picturesque castle in the sea, a small harbor and seaside promenade, pedestrian shopping streets in the historical center and good seafood restaurants. Upon arrival in Monterosso, leave your car at the parking for two days and start enjoying Italy’s Cinque Terre. Overnight is in Monterosso area for two nights. (Breakfast)
DAY 05 CINQUE TERRE
Cinque Terre are five picturesque villages on the west coast of Italy that are connected by a series of popular walking paths and hiking trails, you can choose to visit visit them by train or boat. (Breakfast)
DAY 06 PORTOVENERE, PALMARIA ISLAND AND LERICI
Drive towards Portovenere, situated on the Gulf of Poets, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the picturesque harbor with its brightly colored houses and the picturesque church on the tip of a promontory. We suggest to make a visit to the island of Palmaria by taking a ferry. Your day ends is Lerici for the overnight. (Breakfast)
DAY 07 CARRARA, COLONNATA AND VIAREGGIO
Today you will cross the border line between Liguria and Tuscany to reach Carrara, famous for its marble. Enjoy a tour to into a quarry carved deep into the mountain to admire the white marble that MIchelangelo used to carve its David. Then proceed to the ancient village of Colonnata, for a traditional quarryman breakfast. After the tour drive along the Versilia coast till Viareggio, where you will spend your last 3 nights. (Breakfast)
DAY 08/09 VIAREGGIO
These two days are completely at your disposal to relax on the beach (during summer) or for daily excursions in the surrounding area, like a visit to Torre del Lago to see GIacomo Puccini’s villa or to Pisa to see the Leaning tower. (Breakfast)
DAY 10 PISA AIRPORT
Transfer to Pisa airport to drop off your car and to take a flight back home.
